Voluntary survey focuses on current challenges and opportunities for community development financial institutions.

The Federal Reserve announced this week that its 2023 CDFI survey is open for financial institutions to complete.

The Fed emphasized that the survey is open to all CDFIs, including credit unions, and that it is completely voluntary.

“The information we collect helps provide policymakers, researchers, practitioners, funders, investors, and other community development stakeholders with timely information about the CDFI industry,” the Fed said, in releasing the survey.

Federal Reserve officials also said that CDFIs may use the results to compare their organization to a larger national sample.

What’s in the Survey?

The survey asks CDFIs about the demand for their products, challenges they face in meeting those demands, new products they are offering and their approaches to measuring their performance.

In addition, the survey asks CDFIs about products or services they would offer if they had the resources to do so.

The deadline for completing the survey is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023.
