Low-Income Designation Case Study

How Everence FCU Regained Its Low-Income Designation on the First Attempt

In April 2024, the NCUA sent Everence Federal Credit Union a cure notice. The agency's data put its low-income member percentage at 45.44%, below the 50% threshold, and losing LID would have cost the $444 million credit union the ability to count $3.6 million in subordinated debt toward net worth. Working with CUCollaborate, Everence cleaned and enriched its member data and built a community impact strategy around what the mapping showed. The percentage came back at 57.4%, and Everence earned its LID on the first attempt.
